We would like to invite you to attend the HEART RESEARCH UK CHILDREN’S TRANSPLANT SPORTSHALL event happening this year on Sunday 4th May 08 at the University of Birmingham Campus. We have also planned three exciting social events during the weekend-A trip to Drayton Manor Theme Park on Saturday 3rd May, a Transplant 10 Pin Bowling Competition on Saturday evening at Star City Leisure Complex, Birmingham, plus a Gala Evening on Sunday 4th May after the Sportshall event. Coach transport to Drayton Manor will leave at approximately 9.30am from the hotel on Saturday morning or you could choose to meet us at the Theme Park if you are driving yourself and not resident at the hotel on Friday evening - All tickets will be available on a named family basis at a specified ticket booth. Once again, for this special event, Heart Research UK are our major sponsors for which we are very grateful!
Accommodation has been reserved for Friday 2nd, Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th May 08 at The Great Barr Hotel, Pear Tree Drive, Great Barr, Birmingham, B43 6HS. just off Junction 7 of the M6. The hotel also has a nice restaurant and is 20 minutes from New Street Station in Birmingham (approx £12 in Taxi) for those traveling by train. With prior notice, we can arrange team transport. Coach transport will be provided for those who need it to and from the hotel on the day of the Sportshall event. The coach will also drop off at New Street Station directly from the sports venue on Sunday afternoon. Please advise us of your travel arrangements on the booking form. Maybe you can only attend for one or two nights-we would love to see you!
Although we have secured accommodation directly with the hotel at the prices on the booking form, please let us know as soon as possible if you require accommodation so we do not incur any cancellation charges. It is a small and friendly compact hotel also with single room availability if teenagers choose to have their own room and there are no single supplement charges. This is a Bank Holiday weekend so those of you who would like to extend your stay before or after the Sportshall Event, please indicate on the booking form. Don’t forget, brothers and sisters can take part too, in fact any child can take part so you are welcome to bring other members of your family too! The more the merrier. Medals will still be awarded in categories so you won’t miss out! This event is also open to the children of adult recipients too and we also have a local school getting involved. So all in all, it looks to be a GREAT EVENT so don’t miss it! Also, book direct as you don’t need to be accompanied by your Team Manager for Sportshall.
Don’t forget, if you are a transplant recipient or have not attended a TSUK event before, you need to be a current member of TSUK to take part; this also applies to adult recipients whose children are taking part. Membership forms are available-please download from the website at www.transplantsport.org.uk . We can only guarantee to book your accommodation until 1st April so please send your booking forms as soon as possible if you require accommodation-don’t wait for the booking deadline!
