Organ Donation Policy
The National Organ Donation Taskforce has recommended no changes to the Opt-in Laws in the UK, and correctly identified the need for careful and sensitive discussions with the relatives of all potential donors to ensure their wishes in this regard are fullfilled. We support this view.
We would like to emphasise, however that, the tragedy of not offering organs will continue to happen if families are neither asked, nor made aware of the donors wishes.
Transplant Sport UK welcomes any positive publicity around organ donation which highlights the fact that there are not enough donors and people are dying waiting for transplants.
